The realme X50 5G is a 5G phone, the realme brand itself emphasizes it in the name of the device, but it is not the only thing that stands out. As can be seen in the images, the new smartphone offers an attractive design that follows the lines of realme. It is a large mobile phone, somewhat heavy and with a huge screen: 6.57 inches diagonally and with a 120 Hz refresh rate.
Available in two colours Jungle Green and Ice Silver, priced at £299 from realme and Amazon UK.

The realme X50 5G was one of the first phones to hit the market with one of Qualcomm’s new processors, the Snapdragon 765G. Specialized in providing 5G coverage, and with extensive processing capabilities, this SoC is enough and more than enough to power any phone with ease.
With the realme X50 5G, multiplies sensors and optics to offer a quad rear camera that includes a 48 MP main sensor, a wide-angle lens with an 8 MP sensor, and a third sensor with a telephoto lens. (up to 5x hybrid) and has a 2 MP macro camera to get close-ups of objects that are very close to the phone. And this is not all, that the realme X50 5G crops the screen to embed a dual 16 + 2 MP front camera: wide-angle and ultra-wide, respectively.
The realme X50 is just like the OnePlus Nord because it comes armed with a Snapdragon 765G SoC from Qualcomm that went through the 7nm manufacturing process, and is mated to an Adreno 620 GPU.
Display
The Realme X50 5G comes with a 6.57-inch IPS display with a 1080 x 2400 resolution. It’s got fairly slim bezels all around, measuring 3mm at the sides, 4mm on top, and 7mm on the chin. Colours were vivid thanks to its glossy display, and it has excellent detail and sharpness. Animations were also buttery smooth thanks to its 120Hz refresh rate.
Video
During the testing, I did a video loop test, which consists of looping a 1080p video at about 50% brightness in aeroplane mode and got a total of 20 hours and 32 minutes.
Battery Life
The battery supports the Dart Charge 4.0 quick-charging capability with 30 Watts of power via the provided USB-C cable and adapter. The charger I used during my review allowed me to obtain a full charge in just under an hour. The manufacturer’s promise of a full charge in 1 hour is therefore not an empty one. With a 4,200 mAh happens to be the same charging capacity as the more expensive Realme X50 Pro.

Conclusion
What we liked:
- High refresh rate display
- Good overall system performance
- Rear camera quality
- Overall build quality
What we didn’t:
- No expandable storage option
- No 3.5mm audio jack
If we take the price/performance ratio of this model alone, isolating it from the rest of the market, then the realme X50 is an absolutely good choice, with a hard right punch in performs and price.
The 120 Hz screen is very smooth, the Snapdragon 765G chipset is tried-and-tested when it comes to mobile gaming, the battery life is more than capable of lasting throughout the day, all for under £300.
Score from TNC is 4.3/5
