Homey, the universal smart home platform, has announced the UK launch of Homey Pro mini, a smaller and more affordable smart home hub that brings the full power of Homey Pro to more households. Priced at £199, the new device delivers local control, versatile connectivity, and advanced automation features without the complexity or high costs often associated with smart home hubs.
Unlike many cloud-dependent systems, Homey Pro mini operates primarily on-device with minimal reliance on the cloud. It runs on Homey Pro OS and supports key protocols, including Ethernet, Zigbee, Thread, and Matter, ensuring compatibility with a wide range of devices. The hub is available now through homey.app and Amazon, with broader retail rollout planned.
“Smart home hubs are often either too expensive or too complex,” said Stefan Witkamp, CEO of Athom, the company behind Homey. “With Homey Pro mini, we’re changing that by offering powerful automation and privacy-first design to UK households at a price that makes sense.”
A Compact Hub With Big Capabilities
Despite its size, Homey Pro mini runs the same operating system as the flagship Homey Pro and integrates with devices from over 1,000 brands.
Users can:
Create automations using Flow and Advanced Flow
Build custom Homey Dashboards
Monitor and manage energy consumption with Homey Energy
Access advanced tools such as Insights, Logic, and Experiments
Both official and community-developed apps are also available via the Homey App Store.
Performance Built for Everyday Smart Homes
Powered by a 1.5 GHz quad-core ARMv8 processor, with 1 GB RAM and 8 GB storage, Homey Pro mini can run up to 20 Homey apps — comfortably above the average of 14 used by most Homey Pro customers. For larger setups, the full-size Homey Pro remains available, offering support for 60+ apps and additional built-in radios.
Connectivity and Expansion Options
Out of the box, Homey Pro mini includes Gigabit Ethernet, Zigbee, Matter, and Thread, along with a USB-C cable and power adapter. For extended functionality, pairing the hub with Homey Bridge (£69) adds Z-Wave, Bluetooth LE, 433 MHz, and Infrared support, while also enhancing Zigbee coverage through Satellite Mode.
Availability and Pricing
The Homey Pro Mini is now available in the UK for £199 via homey.app and Amazon, with wider retail availability to follow soon.
