HONOR has officially unveiled its most ambitious smartphone lineup yet — the HONOR Magic8 Series — in China, positioning it as the brand’s first “Self-Evolving AI Smartphone.” The launch marks a major milestone in HONOR’s journey to build a global AI-driven device ecosystem, combining advanced hardware, an intelligent software core, and next-generation camera innovation.
At the heart of the series is the HONOR Magic8 Pro, a flagship device engineered to redefine what users can expect from smartphones in the AI age. With deep system-level integration of the new YOYO Agent, enhanced imaging through AI-driven computational photography, and performance optimised by machine learning, the Magic8 Pro feels like HONOR’s boldest statement yet.

Smarter Living with the Self-Evolving YOYO Agent
HONOR’s “flagship intelligence” is built around YOYO Agent, now entering its most advanced generation. The company describes it as the core of a “self-evolving” smartphone experience — a digital assistant that learns, adapts, and acts autonomously across over 3,000 real-world scenarios.
This means YOYO can go beyond voice commands or basic automation. Users can issue context-aware tasks like:
-
“Find all my screenshots and delete the blurry ones,” or
-
“Summarise this week’s expenses and email them to my manager.”
Instead of opening multiple apps and manually performing steps, YOYO executes these actions automatically, freeing users from repetitive digital chores.
The new AI Button adds even more convenience. A long press launches YOYO Video Call, which can instantly identify or fetch information about any object or content the camera is pointed at — think of it as a real-time contextual assistant. A double-click triggers the camera shutter, offering instant access to photography. HONOR also allows users to customise the AI Button for shortcuts, enabling one-touch access to preferred functions.
Another standout feature is YOYO Memories, a privacy-first personal knowledge hub. It uses local semantic understanding to analyse photos, chats, and documents, recognising meaning and relationships between them — all while ensuring data remains securely stored and processed on-device.
Flagship Imaging: AI Elevates Night and Telephoto Photography
HONOR’s latest AiMAGE Camera System takes a huge leap forward, powered by a mix of computational photography and deep learning. The highlight here is the 200MP Ultra Night Telephoto Camera — currently one of the most advanced telephoto systems in any smartphone.
The sensor itself is large at 1/1.4-inch with a wide f/2.6 aperture, allowing for exceptional light capture even in low-light or distant shots. HONOR claims the system’s AI-powered anti-shake stabilisation makes users seven times more likely to capture sharp zoomed-in images — even without a tripod.
Thanks to the AI Adaptive Stabilisation Model, the Magic8 Pro achieves CIPA 5.5-level stabilisation, improving shake detection accuracy by 4× and dynamic response by 1× compared to previous models. The result: telephoto shots that are sharper, steadier, and more detailed than ever.
Another headline feature is Magic Color, the industry’s first AI-powered colour engine. It uses deep learning to recognise and reproduce 16.77 million colours, ensuring precise tonal reproduction whether you’re capturing a vivid cityscape or a subtle sunset.
With device-cloud collaborative colour migration, Magic Color intelligently processes both global tonality and local fine-tuning, producing cinematic hues and professional-grade results. Users can also import a reference image to create custom filters or emulate professional film tones — a feature that simplifies colour grading for creators.
Endurance and Speed: AI-Optimised Performance
Under the hood, the Magic8 Series is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 mobile platform — Qualcomm’s most powerful chip to date. But HONOR doesn’t just rely on raw power; it enhances performance through GPU-NPU heterogeneous AI super-resolution and frame-generation technology.
In practice, this means the device can upscale low-resolution gameplay (like 850p/60fps) to 1080p/120fps, delivering smoother graphics and improved visual fidelity — perfect for open-world or competitive titles.
Powering this experience is a 7,200mAh silicon-carbon battery, one of the largest capacities in its class. It’s managed by three HONOR E2 power chips, which use AI to optimise power draw, regulate temperature, and prolong battery health over time.
Charging remains a highlight, too — the Magic8 Pro supports 120W wired and 80W wireless HONOR SuperCharge, letting users top up rapidly while maintaining excellent thermal efficiency. HONOR claims this combination delivers “all-day endurance” without compromise.
MagicOS 10 and an Open Ecosystem
HONOR continues to lean into ecosystem connectivity with MagicOS 10, designed for seamless cross-platform interaction. The system allows smooth device collaboration with Android, iOS, HarmonyOS, and Windows, making it easy to share files, sync notes, or resume tasks across multiple devices — a major win for hybrid work users.
Visually, MagicOS 10 debuts a translucent design philosophy, emphasising lightness, depth, and clarity. From lock screens to weather widgets, UI elements respond to real-world light conditions and wallpaper colours, dynamically adjusting contrast for optimal readability. Users can even fine-tune transparency levels for personal comfort — a subtle but thoughtful touch.
Built to Last: Flagship Durability
Beyond its intelligence and performance, the Magic8 Series is built for longevity. HONOR says the phones meet SGS-certified 10× drop resistance standards and boast IP68/69/69K protection, safeguarding against water, dust, and heat exposure.
