Homey has officially launched the Homey Pro mini, a compact, lower-cost version of its flagship Homey Pro smart home hub — now available worldwide. Designed to bring advanced automation to more households, the Pro mini delivers the same core intelligence as its bigger sibling at a more accessible €249 price point.
Despite its size, the Homey Pro mini maintains the platform’s hallmark strengths: local processing, wide protocol support, privacy-first controls, and compatibility with more than 1,000 smart home brands. The device can be purchased today via homey.app, with broader retail rollout to follow.

“Smart home hubs are often either too expensive or too complex,” said Stefan Witkamp, CEO of Athom. “With Homey Pro mini, we’re changing that by delivering powerful automation and privacy-first design to the UK at a price that makes sense.”
A Compact Hub That Keeps Everything Local
At the heart of the Homey Pro mini is Homey Pro OS, the same operating system powering the full Homey Pro. This ensures users get the full suite of Homey’s advanced features, including:
-
Flow and Advanced Flow for deep automation
-
Homey Dashboards for customizable control panels
-
Homey Energy for real-time power monitoring
-
Insights, Logic, and Experiments for power users
-
Access to both Official and Community Apps from the Homey App Store

The key difference? The Pro mini relies almost entirely on local control, reducing cloud dependence, improving automation speed, and strengthening privacy.
Performance: Small Hub, Serious Power
The Homey Pro mini is powered by a 1.5 GHz quad-core ARMv8 processor, paired with:
-
1 GB RAM — enough to run around 20 Homey apps
-
8 GB of internal storage
According to Homey, the average Homey Pro setup runs around 14 apps, meaning the Pro mini easily covers the needs of most households. Those requiring serious scale can still opt for the full Homey Pro, which supports more than 60 apps and includes additional radio hardware.
Connectivity and Expansion Options
Out of the box, the Homey Pro mini supports:
-
Gigabit Ethernet
-
Zigbee
-
Thread
-
Matter
A USB-C cable and power adapter are included.
For users who need even broader compatibility, the Homey Bridge (€69) can be paired with the Pro mini to add:
-
Z-Wave
-
Bluetooth LE
-
433 MHz
-
Infrared
The Bridge also enhances Zigbee performance by acting as a Satellite Mode extender — ideal for larger homes or complex device placements.
Availability and Pricing
The Homey Pro mini is now shipping across Europe and select additional regions for €249 via homey.app. Wider retail availability will be announced in the coming months.
