Motorola is doubling down on premium craftsmanship with the announcement of a new special edition motorola edge 70—this time dressed in PANTONE 11-4201 Cloud Dancer, the newly named Pantone Colour of the Year 2026, and accented with crystals by Swarovski. It’s an exclusive expression of Motorola’s ongoing design partnerships, merging colour science with couture-inspired detailing.

A triple-brand collaboration in colour, craft and technology

This limited-run Edge 70 extends Motorola’s multi-year collaboration with Pantone, but 2026’s treatment goes further. For this edition, Motorola brought in a second creative partner—Swarovski—to infuse the design with a subtle, ethereal shimmer.

Crystals by Swarovski are embedded directly into the handset’s finish, adding a soft glow that plays against the calming white tone of Cloud Dancer. Motorola describes the final look as a way to encourage “creativity to breathe and focus to deepen,” bringing a sense of serenity back to the devices we interact with all day.

The special edition also joins The Brilliant Collection, Motorola’s curated lineup of devices crafted with elevated materials and luxurious detailing—launched earlier this year through its broader partnership with Swarovski.

Design philosophy: simplicity as strength

“We’re thrilled to bring together two of our strongest partners, Pantone and Swarovski, to create this exclusive edition of the motorola edge 70,” says Ruben Castano, Motorola’s VP of Design, Brand and Consumer Experience.

He frames Cloud Dancer as a symbol of a new design mindset—one that values simplicity, balance, and the idea of resetting our senses. According to Castano, the Edge 70 reflects these principles with its thin profile, understated aesthetics, and harmonious mix of textures.

Craftsmanship meets modern smartphone performance

Beyond the colourway and materials, the Edge 70 itself remains one of the thinnest devices in its category, designed to feel balanced and intentional in the hand. Motorola highlights features such as:

  • 50MP high-resolution cameras

  • Next-generation battery technology

  • Adaptive moto ai experiences

  • A soft-luxe textured back with a quilted pattern

The mix of Swarovski crystals, soft-touch materials, and Pantone’s Cloud Dancer tone creates a tactile and visual contrast that stands apart from most smartphones on the market. Motorola positions the device not just as tech, but as an object with “clarity and quiet confidence”—something meant to fit naturally into the rhythm of modern life.

The meaning behind Cloud Dancer

Pantone describes its 2026 Colour of the Year as a quietly powerful shade of white. Leatrice Eiseman, Executive Director of the Pantone Colour Institute, calls Cloud Dancer “a discrete white hue offering a promise of clarity” at a time marked by noise, distraction, and constant transformation.

She explains that the colour represents a conscious act of simplification—an aesthetic and emotional reset meant to help us focus on what matters and tune in to our inner voice. That message aligns closely with Motorola’s design narrative for the special edition Edge 70.
