HONOR has officially introduced the HONOR Magic8 Lite to the UK market, and it arrives with a clear mission: redefine what consumers should expect from battery endurance and durability on a mid-range smartphone. With a massive 7500mAh silicon-carbon battery, SGS-certified durability, and a 108MP camera, this latest device sits comfortably in the “tough-but-smart” category—balancing rugged construction with the premium features users actually care about.

Bond Zhang, CEO of HONOR UK & Ireland, highlights the brand’s ambition:

“Our team at HONOR in the UK strive to create cutting-edge smartphone innovation that’s more accessible, affordable and more easily available for every smartphone buyer… The HONOR Magic8 Lite continues our promise to provide more exciting choices for customers across our valued partners including EE, Virgin Media O2, Vodafone, Three, Tesco Mobile, Currys, Argos, Very, Amazon, AO and John Lewis & Partners.”

Built Like a Tank: Flagship-Level Durability Comes to the Mid-Range

Durability is the headline feature HONOR really wants to drive home. The Magic8 Lite arrives with an industry-first SGS Triple Resistant Premium Performance Certification, covering resistance to drops, water exposure, and dust. It also retains the SGS 5-Star Comprehensive Reliability Certification, meaning it can withstand drops from heights of up to 2.5m onto specific surfaces—impressive for any smartphone, let alone one in this category.

The handset uses HONOR Ultra-Bounce Anti-Drop Technology, including a “Non-Newtonian fluid” layer and newly developed deep-tempered glass. This construction is engineered to absorb shock and reduce impact damage from everyday mishaps.

Water resistance is equally robust. With an IP69K rating, the Magic8 Lite is designed to survive more than just accidental splashes. It can endure:

  • Rinsing

  • High-pressure water jets

  • Hot water (within 10 seconds)

  • Dirty or muddy water

HONOR has even certified it to function after being submerged 1.5m underwater for 30 minutes. Software-level enhancements such as AI Heavy Rain Touch and AI Glove Touch ensure the screen responds accurately in harsh weather or when the user is wearing gloves.

A Battery Built for 3-Day Use

Battery life is increasingly becoming a standout differentiator, and HONOR is pushing boundaries with a 7500mAh silicon-carbon battery—one of the highest-capacity batteries available in a mainstream smartphone. HONOR claims the Magic8 Lite retains over 80% battery health after six years of use, a promising improvement over conventional lithium-ion chemistry.

According to HONOR’s internal tests, a full charge delivers:

  • 52.5 hours of music streaming

  • 23.8 hours of online video playback

  • 16.8 hours of gaming

  • 12.3 hours of video calling

The Magic8 Lite also supports reverse wired charging (7.5W), allowing it to act as a power bank for other gadgets. For everyday refuelling, the device includes 66W wired HONOR SuperCharge, enabling fast top-ups when you’re running low.

To ensure reliability across climates, the battery features multi-point thermal monitoring and performs optimally between −30°C and 55°C. In emergencies, Ultra Power Saving Mode keeps calls going for up to 60 minutes even at 2% battery.

108MP Photography Backed by Smart AI Tools

The Magic8 Lite isn’t just about toughness and longevity. It packs a 108MP ultra-sensing main camera with a large 1/1.67” sensor, designed to capture bright, detail-heavy imagery in both day and night scenarios. The camera system supports OIS + EIS, reducing blur and improving image clarity during motion or low-light shooting.

AI features play a big part in the device’s imaging experience. HONOR’s suite includes:

  • AI Eraser – removes unwanted objects

  • AI Cutout – isolates subjects

  • AI Outpainting – extends or expands background scenes

For creatives, the 4K HD moving photo collage adds dynamic editing tools, while HONOR Connection makes transferring photos to iOS smoother.

Immersive OLED Display with Eye-Care Innovations

Up front, the Magic8 Lite features a 6.79-inch eye-comfort OLED panel with 1.5K resolution and support for 1.07 billion colours. The ultra-slim 1.3mm bezels contribute to an impressive 94.6% screen-to-body ratio, enhancing immersion whether you’re watching films or browsing content.

The display’s standout specs include:

  • 120Hz refresh rate for fluid scrolling

  • 6000-nit peak HDR brightness, one of the highest in this segment

  • 3840Hz PWM dimming, delivering flicker-free viewing

  • HONOR’s advanced eye protection suite:

    • Circadian Night Display

    • AI Defocus Display

    • Dynamic Dimming

    • Hardware-level Low Blue Light

This combination ensures comfort during extended viewing sessions while keeping visuals crisp, vivid, and balanced.

Snapdragon Performance with Plenty of Storage

Under the hood, the Magic8 Lite is powered by the Snapdragon 6 Gen 4 chipset, offering notable performance improvements over its predecessor: 29% GPU and 11% CPU gains. Paired with 8GB RAM plus HONOR’s RAM Turbo (virtually extending memory to 16GB), multitasking should feel fluid and responsive across apps and games.

Storage won’t be an issue either, with a generous 512GB of internal space provided as standard.
