Vivoo, best known for its at-home wellness testing kits, has announced the commercial launch of the Vivoo Smart Toilet—a universal optical clip-on device designed to transform any standard toilet or urinal into a daily health-monitoring tool. Rather than replacing existing bathroom fixtures, Vivoo’s approach adds intelligence to what’s already there, lowering the barrier to entry for smart-toilet technology.

The Smart Toilet builds on Vivoo’s expanding ecosystem of at-home diagnostics, which already spans hydration, hormone tracking, fertility, pH balance, inflammation, and UTI testing. With this launch, the company takes a major step toward its stated goal: making proactive health insights frictionless, affordable, and embedded into everyday routines.

First teased at CES 2023, the finalised device will officially go on sale on 5th January 2026, starting at $99. At launch, the Smart Toilet focuses on hydration tracking, with additional health metrics planned as the platform evolves. Vivoo will be exhibiting the device at CES 2026 (Booth 54118), alongside the debut of Vivoo FlowPad, a hygienic microfluidic pad designed to extract hormone insights from menstrual blood.

A Different Take on the Smart Toilet Category

Smart toilets are not a new idea, but they are often expensive, invasive, and locked into proprietary hardware. Vivoo is intentionally taking a different route.

“Hydration is fundamental to energy, cognition, skin health, metabolism, and longevity, yet most people have no reliable or continuous way to measure it,” said Miray Tayfun, Co-Founder and CEO of Vivoo. “As the smart-toilet market fills with products costing hundreds or even thousands of dollars, we’re choosing accessibility. At $99, the Vivoo Smart Toilet makes daily health insights available to almost anyone—without changing habits or adding friction.”

Instead of replacing the toilet itself, the Smart Toilet clips on in seconds and works passively in the background. The result is a product that feels less like a luxury bathroom upgrade and more like a practical health accessory.

How the Vivoo Smart Toilet Works

At its core, the Vivoo Smart Toilet is built around optical specific-gravity sensing. Once clipped onto a toilet or urinal, the device automatically analyses urine during normal use—no test strips, cartridges, or chemical reagents required.

When a user activates a test via the Vivoo mobile app, embedded optical sensors measure urine specific gravity using lightwave technology. The collected data is processed locally using Vivoo’s proprietary algorithms to estimate hydration levels with clinical-grade reliability. Results are delivered within seconds.

Key to the system’s design is its fully no-touch operation. Urine is passively sampled in a designated zone and returned to the toilet bowl during the same flush cycle. There’s no manual handling, no consumables, and no added cleanup.

To ensure consistent accuracy, the system performs automatic calibration and normalisation, compensating for variables such as lighting conditions, sample volume, and environmental factors. The result is repeatable, high-precision hydration data suitable for daily monitoring.

Designed for Real-World Use

Hygiene and durability are central to the Smart Toilet’s design. The device features an antibacterial and antifungal nanocoating and is naturally self-cleaning with every flush. There’s no special maintenance routine required, and no disposable components to replace.

Battery life is equally practical. A single battery cycle supports over 1,000 measurements, dramatically outperforming cartridge-based systems that may only allow a handful of tests per month. The externally accessible battery pack can be replaced quickly without tools or removing the device.

Each measurement syncs instantly to the Vivoo App via Bluetooth, where users can track hydration trends over time and receive personalised recommendations. The system supports up to 15 user profiles per household, with automatic user recognition ensuring readings are assigned correctly. In commercial or shared environments, the platform supports unlimited users.

Turning Hydration Into a Daily Signal

Hydration is often treated as a wellness buzzword, but its impact on health is well established. Adequate hydration supports cognitive performance, energy levels, digestion, circulation, kidney health, and even skin appearance. Mild dehydration—often unnoticed—can impair focus, increase fatigue, and place additional strain on the body over time.

Traditional advice like “drink eight glasses of water a day” fails to account for individual differences, activity levels, or environmental factors. Thirst alone is also a poor indicator, frequently lagging behind the body’s actual needs.

By measuring hydration at the point where it’s most accurately assessed, Vivoo’s Smart Toilet turns a daily bathroom visit into a meaningful health check-in. Combined with app-based insights, it replaces guesswork with data—without requiring users to change behavior or remember to test.

Pricing and Availability

Vivoo will release the Smart Toilet in three rollout phases:

  • January 5, 2026 – Early-bird batch priced at $99, no subscription, shipping in March

  • June 2026 – Second $99 batch, also subscription-free

  • September 2026 – Full commercial rollout at $129, with a $5.99/month subscription

The device will be available through the Vivoo website, Amazon, and select retail partners.

By focusing on affordability, ease of use, and passive health tracking, Vivoo’s Smart Toilet positions itself as one of the most accessible entries into the emerging smart-bathroom space—and a compelling example of how wellness technology is quietly moving into the background of daily life.
