HONOR has officially launched the HONOR Magic8 Pro in the United Kingdom, and it’s clear the brand is pushing hard on one core message: AI-powered photography without compromise. Built with professional-grade imaging in mind, the Magic8 Pro combines an all-new 200MP AI SuperNight Camera, advanced computational photography, and a massive 6,270mAh silicon-carbon battery, positioning it firmly in the premium flagship space.

Making its debut on the Magic8 Pro is Magic Colour, the industry’s first AI-powered colour engine. Using deep learning algorithms, the system can intelligently extract and manage up to 16.77 million colours, combining device-side processing with cloud-based colour migration for accurate tonality and fine-grained adjustments.

Magic Colour allows users to recreate cinematic looks, apply professional film-style grading, or even build personalised colour templates from reference images. These styles can be used directly within the camera app or accessed through HONOR’s Magic Portal, effectively lowering the barrier to professional-level colour grading.

Beyond capture, the AI Photos Agent introduces one-tap and voice-controlled tools such as AI Eraser, AI Outpainting, AI Colour, and AI Cutout. These features enable background removal, portrait refinement, and artistic restyling with minimal effort.

To make spontaneous shooting easier, HONOR has added a dedicated AI Button, separate from the power key. By default, a double press launches the camera instantly—even from the lock screen. The button is fully customisable, allowing quick access to HONOR AI, AI Photos Agent, system shortcuts, or other frequently used features.

The Magic8 Pro blends Google Gemini for cloud-based reasoning with HONOR AI for on-device intelligence, creating a more responsive and context-aware user experience. Gemini enhances productivity through features like screen context awareness, overlays, real-time translation, and advanced creative tools such as Veo 3 and Connected Apps.

On-device, MagicOS 10 enables HONOR AI to understand on-screen content, interpret natural language commands, and act directly across apps and system settings. A long press of the AI Button brings up AI Screen Suggestions, dynamically adapting to what the user is doing—whether that’s photo editing, security checks, or content recognition.

Security also plays a larger role this generation. AI Deepfake Detection and AI Voice Cloning Detection provide real-time protection during calls and video chats, helping users identify potential face-swap or voice-clone fraud attempts as they happen.

Powering the Magic8 Pro is the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 Mobile Platform, delivering major gains in CPU, GPU, and AI performance. HONOR is also introducing the industry’s first GPU–NPU heterogeneous AI super-resolution and frame-generation technology, designed to upscale low-resolution gameplay while increasing frame rates.

In supported titles, this allows games to jump from 60fps at 850p to 120fps at 1080p, combining smoother motion with improved visual clarity—an impressive feat for mobile gaming enthusiasts.

Battery life is another standout. The 6,270mAh silicon-carbon battery comfortably delivers all-day endurance, while 100W wired and 80W wireless HONOR SuperCharge ensure fast and flexible recharging.

The front is dominated by a 6.71-inch LTPO OLED display with a 1–120Hz adaptive refresh rate. Peak HDR brightness reaches an eye-catching 6,000 nits, with a global peak of 1,800 nits. HONOR has also integrated a suite of eye-comfort technologies, including 4320Hz PWM dimming, dynamic dimming, circular polarisation, and a circadian night display for more natural viewing over long sessions.
