Acer has announced the expansion of its award-winning education portfolio with two new Chromebooks built specifically for K–12 environments: the Acer Chromebook Spin 311 and Acer Chromebook 311. These are Acer’s first education-focused Chromebooks powered by the newly introduced MediaTek Kompanio 540 processor, a platform designed to deliver strong performance while maintaining excellent power efficiency.

Built to withstand the realities of classroom life, both devices combine durable construction with low total cost of ownership—helping schools stretch their budgets while equipping students with reliable tools for 21st-century learning.

Performance and All-Day Battery Life in Flexible Form Factors

At the heart of both new models is the MediaTek Kompanio 540 processor, which provides smooth performance for everyday coursework as well as more demanding applications, including STEM programs and Minecraft: Education Edition. Designed with efficiency in mind, the platform enables fanless, whisper-quiet operation—ideal for classrooms and shared learning spaces.

Battery life is another key strength, with Acer claiming up to 15 hours of use on a single charge. Fast-charging support makes these Chromebooks well-suited for 1:1 student programs where devices are taken home, as well as shared lab environments where downtime needs to be kept to a minimum.

The Acer Chromebook Spin 311 (R725T) features a 360-degree hinge, allowing it to be used in four different modes, including tablet mode for reading, sketching, and note-taking. Meanwhile, the Acer Chromebook 311 (C725) adopts a traditional clamshell design that’s compact and lightweight—ideal for younger learners who need a device that’s easy to carry between classes.

Both models include an 11.6-inch LED-backlit HD (1366 × 768) IPS display. The Spin 311 also offers an optional Antimicrobial Corning® Gorilla® Glass display, addressing hygiene and durability concerns in shared classroom settings. Schools can also opt for a TÜV Rheinland-certified low blue-light display on both devices to help reduce eye strain during extended use.


Features Designed to Enhance Student Engagement

Acer has equipped both Chromebooks with features aimed at improving collaboration, creativity, and connectivity. Each model includes a Full HD webcam paired with dual microphones, making them well-suited for virtual classes, group projects, and content creation. An optional world-facing camera further supports hands-on learning in science, art, and project-based activities.

The inclusion of a dedicated Quick Insert key allows students to access tools, menus, and applications with a single press—streamlining workflows and encouraging creativity. Connectivity is also future-ready, with support for up to Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.3, ensuring fast, reliable connections to networks and peripherals.


Built for Durability and Lower Total Cost of Ownership

Designed to survive the unpredictability of K–12 classrooms, the new Acer Chromebooks meet MIL-STD 810H durability standards. Protective features include impact-resistant exteriors, shock-absorbent bumpers, and an internal honeycomb structure that safeguards components from drops of up to 122 cm (48 inches).

Reinforced brackets around the display and I/O ports help the devices withstand repeated handling, while the keyboards feature a spill-resistant drainage system capable of routing up to 330 ml (11 oz) of liquid away from internal components. Rubberised feet on the chassis also improve grip, making the devices easier and safer for younger students to carry.


Sustainability and Serviceability at the Core

Sustainability plays a central role in the design of Acer’s latest education Chromebooks. Modular components allow for easy and cost-effective repairs, helping schools maximise device uptime. The keyboard can be fully removed and replaced by loosening just two screws, and its mechanically anchored keys are designed to resist tampering while remaining easy for IT teams to service.

The USB Type-C ports are also modular, enabling quick replacement if damaged. Beyond repairability, the devices incorporate post-consumer recycled (PCR) plastics, eco-friendly packaging, and energy-efficient designs. They are EPEAT registered and certified to ENERGY STAR and TCO standards, aligning with Acer’s broader sustainability goals.


Simplified IT Management with Chrome Education Upgrade

Available with the Chrome Education Upgrade, the new Acer Chromebooks offer streamlined deployment, onboarding, and security for schools and districts managing large device fleets. Features such as zero-touch enrollment allow devices to be automatically configured upon arrival, reducing setup time and administrative overhead.

With centralised management tools, IT departments can oversee devices at scale, enforce security policies, and protect sensitive data—allowing educators and students to focus on learning without disruption.


Pricing and Availability

The Acer Chromebook 311 (C725) is scheduled to launch in North America in March 2026, with pricing expected to start at USD $499.99. In EMEA, availability is also planned for March 2026, starting at approximately EUR 329, with an Australian release slated for the same timeframe.
