Humax EV Charging is taking another step toward streamlining the electric vehicle ownership experience. The premium charging manufacturer has announced a strategic partnership with Harmony Automotive, a leading UK dealership group with six showrooms nationwide, to deliver a seamless, end-to-end home charging solution for BYD customers.
The collaboration aims to remove one of the most common friction points in EV adoption—home charger installation—by integrating it directly into the car-buying journey. Whether purchasing as an individual driver or managing a fleet, customers can now bundle the Humax MX7 home EV charger, along with standard installation, into their vehicle financing plan.

Charging, Rolled Into Your Monthly Payments
Under the new agreement, buyers opting for a BYD vehicle through Harmony Automotive can include the cost of the MX7 charger within a Personal Contract Purchase (PCP) plan or other payment options. This approach spreads the cost of both the vehicle and home charging setups into a single, manageable monthly payment, eliminating upfront installation costs.
It’s a move that effectively turns EV ownership into a true “drive-away” experience—no separate installers, no additional logistics, and no surprise costs after leaving the showroom.
The bundled charging package is available immediately across all six Harmony Automotive locations, with pricing starting at £999, including standard installation.
Inside the Humax MX7 EV Charger
At the centre of this offering is the Humax MX7, a home charger that blends smart functionality with future-ready hardware. A 2025 London Design Awards Gold Winner, the MX7 is designed to meet the evolving needs of EV drivers while remaining accessible for everyday use.
Key highlights include built-in energy theft protection, using smart vehicle recognition to prevent unauthorised charging, and compatibility with the UK’s OZEV grant scheme, helping reduce initial costs for eligible users.
The charger is also ISO 15118-ready, positioning it for upcoming Vehicle-to-Grid (V2G) capabilities, and supports solar integration for those looking to maximise renewable energy use at home. Through the Humax Smart App, users can schedule charging sessions, monitor energy usage in real time, and take advantage of features like Auto Solar Mode.

Backing it all up is a five-year warranty and round-the-clock UK-based customer support, reinforcing Humax’s focus on reliability and long-term ownership confidence.
Toward Frictionless EV Adoption
For both companies, the partnership reflects a broader shift in how EV ecosystems are being delivered. By embedding charging infrastructure directly into the purchasing and financing process, Humax and Harmony Automotive are helping normalise EV ownership for a wider audience.
Jeff Kim, President of Humax, emphasised the importance of simplicity in accelerating adoption, noting that integrating charging hardware and installation into financing creates a true “one-stop-shop” experience for customers.
Martyn Webb, Chief Business Controller at Harmony Automotive, echoed the sentiment, highlighting the goal of providing a stress-free buying journey that aligns with the advanced technology of BYD vehicles.

The Humax MX7 charging package is currently available across the UK mainland through Harmony Automotive showrooms, marking a significant step toward a more convenient and accessible EV ownership experience.
