With the countdown to Black Friday is on and a new survey, conducted by Huawei, has revealed that 60% of Brits are hoping to snap up a deal on new tech in the sales this year. The research found that the top tech predicted purchase is a smartphone, with a quarter (24.7%) looking to upgrade their mobile device on Black Friday, indicating that staying connected is more important than ever in the current climate.<\/p>\n

Media watchdog Ofcom found that during lockdown earlier this year Brits were spending 40% of their waking hours in front of a screen. Whether working from home, online shopping or watching videos online screen time is at an all-time high, and the research from Huawei finds that people are looking to invest in new laptops (21%), tablets (19%) and PC\u2019s (13%) this Black Friday, perhaps to boost their WFH tech set-up.<\/p>\n

With the nation swapping socialising for streaming, a TV is also high on shoppers\u2019 Black Friday wish lists this year, with 24% looking to bag a bargain on a new TV. A further 23% are after some new headphones to keep them entertained during the winter months, while 19% are on the look-out for a games console. Keeping fit is also a priority for many this year, with 18% of Brits looking to buy a smartwatch or fitness tracker during the sales to keep track of their fitness progress, alongside trainers (18%), gym clothing (17%) and exercise machines (13%).<\/p>\n
