At CES 2026, Athom\u2014the company behind the open smart home platform Homey<\/a>\u2014announced a significant expansion of its camera streaming capabilities. The update includes a new official partnership with Reolink, continued collaboration with Aqara, and broader support for modern video streaming formats. Together, these improvements further strengthen Homey\u2019s position as a flexible, brand-agnostic smart home hub.<\/p>\n

Homey already supports live camera streaming from several popular brands, including Google Nest, Ring, SwitchBot, Tapo, and Kasa. With the latest announcements, Athom is extending that ecosystem to make it even easier for users to view and manage camera feeds directly within the Homey interface.<\/p>\n

Once released in the Homey App Store<\/a><\/strong>, the native integration will allow users to connect compatible Reolink cameras directly to Homey and view live video streams without relying on workarounds or third-party solutions. This marks an important step for users who already rely on Reolink\u2019s wide range of indoor, outdoor, and battery-powered cameras and want tighter smart home integration.<\/p>\n

Matter 1.5 Camera Support Planned with Aqara<\/h3>\n

Looking further ahead, Homey is continuing its work with Aqara to bring support for Matter 1.5, the latest version of the smart home standard. Matter 1.5 introduces native camera support, enabling features such as live video and audio streaming, two-way communication, and more advanced camera controls across certified ecosystems.<\/p>\n
