At MWC 2025, OPPO unveiled its ambitious AI strategy, aiming to deliver seamless, secure, and evolving AI experiences to users worldwide. “The user experience is paramount in AI,” stated Billy Zhang, President of Overseas Marketing, Sales and Services at OPPO. “Smartphones are the engines powering these experiences, and OPPO is committed to driving innovation and collaboration to deliver unparalleled AI.”<\/p>\n

OPPO is transitioning from functional AI features to system-level AI integration, demanding enhanced security and deeper integration. A key highlight is the expanded partnership with Google, bringing Google Gemini directly into native OPPO apps like Notes, Calendar, and Clock. This builds upon existing support for Gemini 1.5 Pro and 1.5 Flash on OPPO AI Phones, with plans to integrate the latest Gemini 2.0 soon.<\/p>\n

To ensure user privacy, OPPO is implementing a Private Computing Cloud (PCC), leveraging Google Cloud’s Confidential Computing. Starting with AI Recording Summary features like AI Search, AI Studio, and AI Call Summary will be secured by PCC this year. “Our collaboration with OPPO, spanning apps, AI models, and cloud solutions, is redefining mobile AI,” said Matt Waldbusser, Managing Director for Global Solution and Consumer AI, Google Cloud.<\/p>\n

OPPO’s AI strategy focuses on three core areas: AI Productivity, AI Creativity, and AI Imaging, all powered by a comprehensive R&D strategy from chips to cloud. Collaborating with MediaTek, OPPO is optimizing chips for efficient, real-time AI processing. “The partnership between MediaTek and OPPO is unlocking new AI opportunities,” said Will Chen, Deputy General Manager of the Wireless Business Group at MediaTek.<\/p>\n

On-device AI performance is boosted by technologies like LoRA, Parallel Decoding Solution, and MoE. OPPO has also built a robust data security system for both devices and the cloud.<\/p>\n

Building on the success of reaching 50 million AI users, OPPO aims to double that to 100 million by the end of 2025. To meet user demand, OPPO will release an average of one new AI update per month.<\/p>\n

Upcoming AI innovations include AI Search and Google Gemini integration on the OPPO Find N5. Future updates will bring AI Call Translator for real-time multilingual call interpretation and AI VoiceScribe for comprehensive voice summarization.<\/p>\n
