Amazon is expanding Alexa Routines by making it available with Fire TV in the UK from today. Using the Alexa app, customers can set up Routines selecting actions such as powering their Fire TV on or off, opening a specific app, playing, pausing or resuming specific content as well as actions on other Alexa-enabled and smart home devices.
For example, you can create an Alexa Routine so when someone says, “Alexa, it’s movie night,” a series of actions will take place such as turning on Fire TV, dimming smart lights and boiling the kettle for a cup of tea.
Customers can set up their own routines, or they can customise Featured Routines in the Alexa app. To create a new Routine, open the Alexa app, tap the More tab and select Routines. Tap the + icon in the top right corner and then follow on-screen instructions to get started.
Also for the fourth year, Amazon is partnering with (RED) to help customers put the impact into the purchase with a product that gives back – the new limited-edition (echo)RED.
The next-generation, limited-edition (echo)RED, features an all-new sleek spherical design, premium sound, and smart home hub support for Zigbee, Bluetooth, and Low Power Mode. Amazon will donate £10 from each (echo)RED sale to the Global Fund to support COVID-19 response and HIV/AIDS programs in sub-Saharan Africa.
The limited-edition (echo)RED is available in the UK from today for £59.99 (RRP £89.99).
