The Dimensity 9400+ employs an “All Big Core” architecture, featuring a high-performance Arm Cortex-X925 core clocked at up to 3.73GHz, complemented by three Cortex-X4 cores and four Cortex-A720 cores. This powerful CPU configuration is designed to boost both single-core and multi-core performance, leading to a superior Android user experience.

According to JC Hsu, Corporate Senior Vice President at MediaTek, the Dimensity 9400+ will simplify the deployment of innovative and personalized on-device AI experiences. He emphasized the chip’s enhanced overall performance, ensuring smooth handling of all device tasks. MediaTek is actively collaborating with developers and manufacturers to cultivate a strong ecosystem of AI applications and other features, promising consumers faster speeds and improved privacy.

Equipped with the MediaTek NPU 890, the Dimensity 9400+ offers broad LLM support across various global regions. The chipset incorporates technologies like Mixture-of-Experts (MoE), Multi-Head Latent Attention (MLA), Multi-Token Prediction (MTP), and FP8 inferencing, resulting in quicker reasoning. It also achieves a 20% improvement in agentic AI performance through Speculative Decoding+ (SpD+). Furthermore, the integrated Dimensity Agentic AI Engine (DAE) facilitates developers in transforming conventional AI applications into sophisticated agentic AI applications.

For enhanced gaming visuals, the Dimensity 9400+ includes a 12-core Arm Immortalis-G925 GPU. This GPU brings PC-level features to smartphones, such as opacity micromap (OMM) support for more realistic effects in elements like vegetation, hair, and feathers, without compromising performance. The powerful GPU also sustains high gameplay speeds, allowing for extended gaming sessions without lag. Additionally, the chipset features a new MediaTek Frame Rate Converter 2.0+ (MFRC 2.0+), developed in partnership with game developers, which can effectively double the frame rate and improve power efficiency by up to 40% when active.

The MediaTek Imagiq 1090 ISP enables HDR video recording across the entire zoom range, allowing users to capture high-quality shots even from a distance. MediaTek’s Smooth Zoom technology provides seamless tracking of moving subjects while enabling users to isolate specific image and audio elements within a scene.

Other notable features of the Dimensity 9400+ include:

  • Extended phone-to-phone direct Bluetooth connections up to 10km, a 6.6 times increase compared to the Dimensity 9400.
  • Support for BeiDou satellite connectivity, offering 33% faster Time to First Fix (TTFF) even without cellular.
  • Wi-Fi 7 tri-band concurrency with five streams.
  • MediaTek Xtra RangeTM 3.0, providing up to 30 meters of additional Wi-Fi coverage.
  • 5G/4G Dual SIM Dual Active, Dual Data (DSDA) capabilities for greater user flexibility.

Smartphones powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9400+ are expected to become available in the market this month.
