OnePlus has officially lifted the lid on several key features of its next “ultimate value flagship,” the OnePlus 15R—and the headline spec is a show-stopper. The company has confirmed that the device will ship with a massive 7,400 mAh battery, the largest ever used in a OnePlus smartphone. Paired with a blisteringly fast 165 Hz 1.5K AMOLED display, the 15R is shaping up to be a performance-first device built for heavy gamers, streamers and power users who don’t want to compromise on longevity.

A Record-Breaking Battery Backed by SUPERVOOC

The new 7,400 mAh cell isn’t just big—it’s engineered to last. Supported by 80W SUPERVOOC fast charging, OnePlus says the battery is designed to withstand extreme environments and still retain at least 80% of its capacity after four years of everyday use.

The company also highlighted its Silicon Nanostack architecture, with a 15% silicon content in the anode to boost energy density and extend the effective lifespan of the pack. It’s the kind of battery technology you normally expect on ultra-premium flagships, which makes its appearance on the 15R a statement of intent.

Flagship-Level Video: 4K at 120fps

OnePlus is also borrowing from its true flagship line-up. The 15R will support 4K video recording at 120 frames per second, a feature previously exclusive to the OnePlus 15. This further reinforces the “value flagship” identity—bringing top-tier video capabilities to a more affordable segment.

Snapdragon 8 Gen 5: Co-Engineered With Qualcomm

Under the hood, the OnePlus 15R will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 mobile platform. What makes this launch notable is that OnePlus says the chipset was co-defined and co-optimised with Qualcomm over two years to ensure optimal performance and thermal efficiency on this specific device. The 15R will also be the first phone to launch globally with Qualcomm’s latest flagship processor.

A High-Refresh 1.5K AMOLED Display

Complementing all that power is a 165 Hz AMOLED display with a 1.5K resolution and a pixel density of 450 ppi. The panel reaches up to 1800 nits peak brightness but can also dim down to as little as 2 nits by default, or 1 nit when Reduce White Point is enabled—excellent news for nighttime comfort.

The display has earned TÜV Rheinland Intelligent Eye Care 5.0 certification, ensuring safer long-term viewing and reduced eye strain while gaming, streaming, or scrolling.

Plus Mind: OnePlus’ Next-Gen AI Assistant

OnePlus also detailed its new AI feature, Plus Mind, designed to declutter and simplify digital overload. A single press of the Plus Key lets users capture whatever’s on screen and send it to Plus Mind for organisation and action. It can analyse information, turn it into tasks or calendar entries, and make it easier to retrieve later—positioning it as a lightweight productivity companion baked directly into the OS.

Full Reveal Coming 17th December

The OnePlus 15R will make its full debut on 17th December, alongside the new OnePlus Pad Go 2. With a record-breaking battery, flagship-grade video capture, a co-developed Snapdragon chipset and a high-refresh AMOLED display, the 15R is already shaping up to be one of the most compelling value-focused smartphones heading into 2026.
