HONOR has unveiled the HONOR Robot Phone, a wild new flagship that embeds a fully motorised 3-axis mechanical gimbal directly into the body of the phone. Instead of relying purely on Optical Image Stabilisation (OIS) or software tricks, this device physically extends, pans, and tilts to track subjects, smooth out cinematic shots, and transform into a self-aiming tripod.

It isn’t just a hardware gimmick—HONOR partnered with legendary cinema camera manufacturer ARRI to co-engineer the camera system.

A 3-Axis Titanium Gimbal Hidden in a Phone

The star of the show is the HONOR Titanium Agile Gimbal, a 4-degree-of-freedom (4-DoF) mechanical system built from titanium and super steel.

• The Engineering: HONOR packed 100+ precision components into the chassis, reducing traditional gimbal component size by 65% while boosting structural strength by 200%.

• Speed & Torque: The internal titanium motor spins up to 360° per second, paired with a flip motor boasting a torque density of 120 N·m/L.

• Cinematic Moves: Out of the box, the mechanical arm supports dynamic shot profiles like Tilt Lock, First-Person View (FPV), FPV Vertical, and an automated AI SpinShot.

ARRI Image Science Meets Dual 200MP Cameras

HONOR isn’t just using the ARRI logo for branding—this is a deep technical integration extending to RAW video processing and post-production workflows.

• Dual 200MP Main Setup: The main gimbal-stabilised camera uses a massive 1/1.28-inch sensor ($f/1.6$), complemented by a 200MP periscope telephoto lens (1/1.4-inch sensor, 2.7x optical zoom) and a 50MP ultra-wide (122° FOV).

• 10-bit ARRI LogC3 Recording: Video is processed in 14-bit 4:4:4 in the RAW domain and exported as 10-bit LogC3 or 4:2:2 video. This gives creators up to 14 stops of dynamic range and full compatibility with ARRI LUTs in DaVinci Resolve.

• ARRI Looks & Gamut: Real-time previews of ARRI Looks allow creators to monitor cinema-grade colour profiles directly on set without complex LUT management.

“Embodied AI” and Hands-Free Vlogging

Running on MagicOS, the phone introduces YOYO Robot Mode, treating the device’s hardware as an autonomous camera operator.

• Autonomous Tracking: Using AI subject tracking and voice source localisation, the gimbal automatically swivels to keep you centred in the frame during live streams, vlogs, or video calls.

• Gesture Controls: You can deploy the gimbal arm and trigger recordings using hands-free gestures.

• System-Wide AI: Beyond the camera, the YOYO Auto Execution agent handles multi-step system tasks and app navigation based on natural user intent.
