The era of shipping every prompt, video frame, and code snippet to a remote data centre is hitting a wall. Local compute is back in the spotlight—and Dell is betting big on high-bandwidth, unified hardware designed to run autonomous agents and massive generative models directly on your desk.

In collaboration with NVIDIA and Microsoft, Dell has rolled out an expanded portfolio of Windows PCs and workstations purpose-built for the age of “agentic AI.” Headlining the announcement are the XPS 16 Creator Edition, the Dell Creator Edition Desktop, and the monster Dell Pro Precision with GB300.

Here is everything you need to know about Dell’s new silicon shakeup.

The Headliner: Dell XPS 16 Creator Edition

The XPS line has long been Dell’s flagship for premium design, but the new XPS 16 Creator Edition completely re-engineers what happens under the hood. It becomes the first XPS portable powered by the NVIDIA RTX Spark superchip.

Unified Memory Solves the VRAM Bottleneck

Traditionally, laptop creators and developers run into the dreaded discrete GPU memory wall—often capped at 8GB, 16GB, or 24GB of VRAM.

The RTX Spark superchip merges up to a 20-core NVIDIA Grace CPU, up to a 6,144-core Blackwell RTX GPU, and up to 128GB of unified memory inside a chassis just 17.8mm thin. Because CPU and GPU share the same massive memory pool, you can load multi-layer 8K video timelines, complex 3D scenes, or 70B+ parameter AI models locally without swapping to system RAM or running out of memory.

Studio-Grade Tandem OLED

The display specs will please colour-critical professionals:

  • Panel: 3.2K Tandem OLED (higher sustained brightness, better power efficiency)

  • Refresh Rate: Dynamic 20Hz to 120Hz variable refresh rate

  • Brightness & HDR: VESA DisplayHDR True Black 600, peaking at 1,000 nits

  • Colour Accuracy: 100% DCI-P3 coverage, factory-calibrated Delta E < 2 with Pantone Validation

No Dongle Tax

Dell skipped the port-stripping trend this time around:

  • 3x USB4 Type-C (DisplayPort 2.1 & Power Delivery across all ports)

  • 1x HDMI 2.1b (native output for external displays)

  • Full-size SDXC v7.1 card reader

  • 3.5mm universal audio jack

Windows on ARM & Local AI Dev Stacks

Running on Windows, the RTX Spark architecture bridges traditional desktop productivity with modern developer workflows:

  • Local Agentic Tools: Out of the box, the platform natively supports local AI tools like Claude Code, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, and ComfyUI.

  • Full NVIDIA CUDA Stack: Developers can prototype and fine-tune on their laptop using the same architecture powering production clusters.

  • App Compatibility: Creative staples like Adobe Photoshop, Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, and Blender run natively. Legacy x86 tools (like MATLAB) run via Microsoft’s Prism emulation, while anti-cheat systems (Easy Anti-Cheat, BattlEye) and the Xbox PC app ensure it handles AAA gaming after hours.

Dell Creator Edition Desktop: Sustained Desktop Compute

If thermal throttling or battery limits hold back your workflow, the Dell Creator Edition Desktop packages the same RTX Spark platform into a compact, continuous-duty desktop chassis.

  • Compute:  With up to 1 petaflop of FP4 computing power and support for AI models of over 200 billion parameters, users have the compute to take on their most ambitious creative and AI projects.

  • Memory: Up to 128GB unified memory

  • Model Capacity: Capable of running local models exceeding 200 billion parameters

  • Target Audience: Creators needing marathon 3D/video render times and developers running persistent background agents 24/7.

The Enterprise Beast: Dell Pro Precision with GB300

For enterprises, Dell is rebranding its top-tier AI workstations under the Dell Pro Precision banner (formerly Dell Pro Max) and bringing Windows support to the NVIDIA GB300 Grace Blackwell Ultra Desktop Superchip.

Historically, training and running multi-hundred-billion-parameter models meant deploying dedicated Linux boxes outside standard enterprise IT group policies. By pairing the GB300 with Windows and Windows Subsystem for Linux (WSL), teams get native CUDA performance alongside standard Office 365, Active Directory controls, and enterprise security.

Metric Dell Pro Precision with GB300
Silicon NVIDIA GB300 Grace Blackwell Ultra Superchip
Compute Performance Up to 20 Petaflops (FP4)
Coherent Memory 748GB
Local Model Capacity Up to 1 Trillion Parameters
Cooling Architecture Dell MaxCool (up to 5x cooling efficiency)
Operating Environment Windows with seamless WSL / Linux CUDA support

Availability

  • Dell XPS 16 Creator Edition: Available for pre-order in the U.S. at Best Buy starting 7th October, landing on Dell.com shortly after.

The Takeaway

With Apple’s unified memory M-series chips holding a firm grip on local LLM enthusiasts and video editors, Dell and NVIDIA’s Grace Blackwell architecture is the first serious Windows counterattack. A 128GB unified-memory laptop running full CUDA natively could fundamentally change how developers and creators look at portable machines.
