With its 20th year of operating in the UK, Huawei has today announced it will be investing more than $1.2M in a partnership with leading high-street retailer Currys PC World as it launches its flagship smartwatch, the HUAWEI WATCH 3. The retail partnership will see installations delivered in more than 227 stores across the UK and the Republic of Ireland.
The new and exclusive partnership with Currys PC World will see extensive in-store branding and education for the WATCH 3, as well as some other critically acclaimed products in the Huawei wearables range, including the HUAWEI Watch GT2 series, HUAWEI Watch Fit and HUAWEI Band 6.
The investment continues Huawei’s long term commitment to UK retail and the British economy, to which Huawei has contributed £3.3bn GDP overall. Last year, Huawei opened the doors to its first-ever own-brand store in Westfield Stratford City, which provided new jobs for local residents – just a few of the 51,000 jobs supported by Huawei in the UK. The new store is in addition to the Huawei Service Centre which opened in Wembley in 2019.
Anson Zhang, Managing Director of Huawei’s UK Consumer Business Group, said: “UK retail has faced lots of challenges over the years, including the pandemic. We are delighted to show our support through this considerable investment, bringing Huawei and Currys PC World customers the best retail experiences. We believe our ongoing partnership with Currys PC World will help boost the UK’s growing appetite for wearable devices and reinforces our commitment to UK customers.”
Launched in June 2021, the WATCH 3 is Huawei’s latest flagship smartwatch. The new watch runs on HarmonyOS to bring consumers convenient and smart life experiences, underpinned by continuous health monitoring features. The stylish new WATCH 3 features a high-precision temperature sensor for the first time to support skin temperature detection, up to 14-day battery life and independent calling for the ultimate smartwatch experience.
