EcoFlow just kicked off IFA 2026 in Berlin with hardware that pushes in two polar opposite directions: shedding dead weight from grab-and-go battery packs while brute-forcing clean electricity onto industrial job sites.

Between the featherweight RIVER Gen4 series and the rugged PowerRock 4000, the company wants power to follow you—whether you’re working off a camp bench or running heavy tools inside an unventilated basement.

RIVER Gen4: Ultra-Compact Power Stations

EcoFlow redesigned its entry-level units from the ground up, targeting the worst enemy of portable power: excess bulk and parasitic internal battery drain.

• High-Efficiency Low-Draw Circuitry: Cuts internal idle loss by ~30% compared to typical market baselines, optimising discharge for gear drawing under 100 W (like Wi-Fi routers and camp lighting).

• Emergency Power Reserve: Squeezes out critical reserve juice for phones, navigation, and lighting even when the display reads 0%.

• Fast I/O: 140W bidirectional USB-C ports on both models cover PD fast charging, solar inputs, and car charging.

• Quiet Living: Runs below 30 dB at 200 W loads, uses long-cycle LFP cells, and features <10 ms UPS auto-switching for home blackouts.

PowerRock 4000: Clean Industrial Muscle

Gas generators on urban job sites are quickly running out of regulatory rope due to noise and indoor exhaust restrictions. The PowerRock 4000 targets contractors, event crews, and film sets that need quiet, plug-and-play, high-draw power.

• Heavy-Duty Output: 4 kW continuous output and a 7.2 kW surge peak for up to 100 seconds, backed by a 3 kWh battery pack.

• Built-in Residual Current Device (RCD): An integrated 30 mA leakage-detection cut-off (<300 ms response time) avoids the need for bulky, separate inline safety hardware to comply with European site regulations.

• Jobsite Ready: IP65-rated, all-metal chassis wrapped in a reinforced roll cage rated to survive a 1-meter drop (weighs 38 kg).

• Zero Downtime: Reaches 80% charge in 48 minutes (full in 60 minutes) over AC mains, or recharges directly via a vehicle alternator between job sites.

European availability begins September 4, 2026, rolling out through commercial electrical and tool distribution channels starting in November.

Whole-Home Energy: OCEAN2 & STREAM

EcoFlow also displayed its larger ecosystem hardware for residential setups:

• OCEAN2 Three-Phase Storage: Scales from 6 kW to 15 kW with three MPP trackers handling up to 24 kW of solar input. It delivers true 0 ms whole-home backup at 63 A with no separate switchbox needed. Capacity scales to 12 modules (5 kWh or 8 kWh packs, IP66-rated, 15-year warranty), driven by the OASIS 3.0 predictive energy manager.

• STREAM Series: Built to retrofit onto pre-existing residential rooftop solar arrays. Starting in October, it gains a zero-cloud Local Mode, allowing total offline home-network monitoring and automation if web connectivity goes dark.
