At Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2023, OnePlus introduced its latest innovation, Active CryoFlux, a groundbreaking active cooling technology that redefined industry standards. The technology has been integrated into the imaginative design of the OnePlus 11 Concept, which was also unveiled at the event. Along with the concept, OnePlus showcased other products, including the recently announced flagship OnePlus 11 5G, which demonstrated new built-in AR and ray tracing technology co-developed with Qualcomm and Perfect World Games. Visitors to the event can visit OnePlus at stand #3M10 in Hall 3 throughout the show.
“Ten years ago, we entered the industry to create products that we ourselves actually wanted to use. Along the way, we grew together with our community and fans—striving to do better each day, aspiring to push the boundaries for each product. The overwhelmingly positive response from users is a testament that we have been on the right path for excellence in creating fast and smooth experience possible,” said Kinder Liu, President and COO of OnePlus. “That’s driven us to innovate on high performance and also continue to work with industry-leading partners to bring the technology to life.”
“With our recently announced ‘1+4+X’ product strategy, we aim to expand the OnePlus ecosystem and enhance integration between devices and beyond with our portfolio of supporting products, including TVs, audio, wearables, and the newly launched tablet, and the vast array of products which can connect to OnePlus ecosystem to build a superior digital life.”
Active CryoFlux on OnePlus 11 Concept
OnePlus 11 Concept represents a commitment to continuous innovation, always striving to enhance the user experience by delivering fast and smooth performance. At the heart of this concept lies the revolutionary Active CryoFlux technology, a game-changer in mobile cooling that has set new standards in the industry. Laboratory tests have proven the remarkable effects of Active CryoFlux, which can reduce a phone’s temperature during gaming by up to 2.1°C, improve game frame rate by 3-4 degrees, or reduce charging time by 1.6°C, shave off 30-45s from the charging time.
To achieve this cutting-edge technology, OnePlus has miniaturized the cooling capabilities of gaming PCs to fit within a smartphone. Active CryoFlux features an industrial-grade piezoelectric ceramic micropump at its core, connected to pipelines sandwiched between an upper and lower diaphragm. Despite its small size, the micropump circulates cooling liquid around the pipelines efficiently, without significantly increasing the weight and thickness of the OnePlus 11 Concept.
In addition to its groundbreaking technology, the OnePlus 11 Concept also boasts a sleek and futuristic design. The deeply curved clear rear cover, which has a side pull-up height of 5.04mm, gives a mesmerizing view of the Active CryoFlux pipelines at work. The rear cover also features a magnetron-sputtering coating, which deposits metal and alloy onto the case in small amounts, using an electric field, adding to the beauty of the device.
In addition to its advanced cooling system and sleek design, the OnePlus 11 Concept also boasts an intricately designed camera system that is sure to impress. The camera is surrounded by a halo of icy blue Active CryoFlux liquid, adding to the device’s futuristic look and feel. The lens area is encased in Guilloché etching, a precise decorative technique typically found in luxury timepieces, which is being introduced as an industry first in the OnePlus 11 Concept. The attention to detail in the design of the camera system demonstrates OnePlus’ dedication to innovation and pushing the boundaries of what is possible in mobile technology.
OnePlus 11 5G with ray tracing technology and Snapdragon Spaces XR Platform
During the MWC event, OnePlus and its industry partners showcased exciting new entertainment experiences made possible with the OnePlus 11 5G. The device was used to demonstrate a ray-tracing-enabled version of the popular game Tower of Fantasy, from Perfect World Games. This was made possible thanks to the powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 Mobile Platform integrated into the OnePlus 11 5G. Additionally, a Snapdragon XR2 AR Wireless Smart Viewer experience was also demonstrated, showcasing the device’s capabilities in augmented reality.
What’s more, the OnePlus 11 5G is the first Snapdragon Spaces-ready phone and serves as an entry point for the Snapdragon SpacesTM XR developer program. This program allows developers to bring their XR ideas to life and explore the full potential of cutting-edge AR, enabling a real-world experience for live concerts, films, and other exclusive events for users. This exciting new technology is sure to revolutionize the entertainment industry and provide users with a completely new and immersive experience.
