Hisense Group has officially launched the ConnectLife app for Homey, bridging a major gap for smart home automation enthusiasts by bringing Hisense, Gorenje, ASKO, ATAG, and Pelgrim appliances directly into the Homey ecosystem.

For too long, major household appliances have remained siloed in their own single-brand apps, disconnected from smart lighting, heating, and sensors. The new integration changes that by turning appliance data into functional triggers for Homey Flows, allowing your washing machine or dishwasher to interact with the rest of your connected home just like a motion detector or smart thermostat.

What You Can Monitor and Control

The depth of integration depends on the specific appliance, but supported devices unlock a robust range of real-time statuses and controls:

• Live Status: Keep tabs on program phases, remaining cycle times, door status, and maintenance warnings such as low rinse aid or a full water tank.

• Direct Control: Start and stop compatible programs remotely, or adjust split air conditioners by changing temperatures, operating modes, and fan speeds.

Smarter Automation with Flows

Because Homey treats appliance updates as live triggers, you can build advanced routines that go far beyond basic remote control:

• Smart Notifications: Trigger a hallway light to flash or send a push notification when a washing machine finishes its cycle or a dishwasher needs salt.

• Safety Responses: Link a leak-detection alert on a washing machine to automatically fire off an alarm on smart speakers.

• Presence-Based Climate Control: Program split air conditioners to spin up cooling the moment a presence sensor detects someone entering a room.

Optimising Energy Use

Energy management forms a core pillar of the new release. By combining the integration with Homey Energy’s Dynamic Electricity Prices feature, users on dynamic tariffs can slash running costs.

You can set up automated Flows that kick off the dishwasher or washing machine during the cheapest hours of the day—often a fraction of the cost of the evening peak. To make this work, users simply need to enable remote start on the physical appliance, load it up, and leave it primed to run.

“Connect a ConnectLife appliance to Homey, and you can have it start automatically during the cheapest hours of the day,” said Stefan Witkamp, CEO at Athom. “Homey already has the energy price, and now it can use that information to control the appliance too.”

Availability and Requirements

The ConnectLife app is available now in the Homey App Store and is compatible with Homey Cloud, Homey Pro, Homey Pro mini, and Homey Self-Hosted Server.

Getting started requires an existing ConnectLife account with your compatible appliances already registered and paired.
