HONOR also divulged the secrets behind its revolutionary Falcon Camera System, which is equipped with the all-new HONOR Image Engine. The HONOR Magic5 Pro introduces the Millisecond Falcon Capture algorithm, offering exceptional capturing speeds and unparalleled image clarity. To achieve this feat, HONOR established dedicated camera labs, where they conducted extensive quantitative and qualitative analysis, informing the development of their AI algorithm. By overcoming various challenges associated with capturing moving scenes under different speeds, distances, and lighting conditions, the HONOR Magic5 Pro takes smartphone photography to new heights. Notably, the autofocus speed has seen a remarkable 245% improvement compared to the previous generation. Leveraging intelligent AI Recognition technology, the device’s AI Motion Sensing feature enables users to capture the perfect moment in fast-moving scenarios consistently. HONOR collaborated closely with Qualcomm Technologies to maximize processing power by harnessing the full potential of the Qualcomm AI Engine, resulting in a cache interval boost of over six times, from 240 to 1500 milliseconds. With a larger data cache interval and an AI network trained on over 270,000 images, the HONOR Magic5 Pro empowers users to effortlessly capture their magical moments in motion.
The development of the HONOR Image Engine involved an extensive 18-month rebuilding process from the ground up, including new architecture, source code, and algorithms, fully optimizing the processing power of the Snapdragon mobile platform.
Moreover, HONOR has demonstrated its long-standing commitment to eye care innovation with the HONOR Magic5 Pro. The device supports Circadian Night Display and has become the first smartphone to receive the TÜV Rheinland Circadian Friendly Certification. The Circadian Night Display features a sleep-easing mode that regulates blue light and gently transitions the night-time colour temperature in a natural manner. Based on lab tests conducted by HONOR, this feature can increase melatonin secretion by up to 20% within three hours, facilitating a better night’s sleep for users. HONOR has been dedicated to researching eye care technologies since 2016 and collected data from over 10,000 users to uncover the optimal display-dimming technology. This research enabled the development of the Dynamic Dimming feature, which effectively reduces eye fatigue by 18% after 45 minutes of use.
Dr Glen Jeffery, Professor of Neuroscience at the Institute of Ophthalmology, Faculty of Brain Science at UCL, commented on the significance of controlling exposure to blue light, particularly in the context of sleep and general health. HONOR has made substantial investments, exceeding $20 million, in quality testing equipment at its state-of-the-art Global Compliance and Testing Center (GCTC). These sophisticated testing facilities allow HONOR to conduct in-house tests to verify over 200 certification test standards, including the prestigious Conformité Européenne (CE) certification.
